Celebrating 100 Years of Flight
The Alaska Air Show Association (AASA) honors 100 years of Alaska aviation with the Alaska Aviation Centennial: 1913-2013.
May 9th thru July 14th vintage aircraft will barnstorm a Commemorative Route throughout Alaska making 15 stops to honor the brave men and women who forged the path for Alaska’s aviators.
The commemorative route starts in Anchorage May 9th to Cordova and over an 8 week span make stops throughout the State with the climatic event in Fairbanks July 3, Talkeetna July 5th and at the Alaska Aviation Museum on Lake Hood July 14th.
Chambers of Commerce, Local Museums, Airport Lessees, Cities and other sponsors have planned entertaining events around each stop.
Stops include: Anchorage, Cordova, Valdez, Homer, Illiamna, King Salmon, Dillingham, Bethel, Aniak, McGrath, Galena, Unalakleet, Nome, Kotzebue, Barrow, Fairbanks, Talkeetna, and Wasilla.
